10 Year Old Assaulted in Park in St Helen Auckland

A TEN-year-old girl was left extremely distressed after being punched in the stomach while walking through a park.
The girl was walking home in St Helen Auckland when she was approached by a group of children on the playing fields to the rear of St Helen Auckland Primary School.

PC Michael Banks said one of the boys, who was around 12-years-old, approached the girl and without provocation punched her in the stomach before making off.

PC Banks said: “She was left extremely distressed by this and her family are now reluctant to let her outside without a family member with her.

“The boy was described as being white, around five feet tall possibly around 12 years of age, he was wearing a ski mask type hat that covers most of the face and wearing a long dark coat.

“There were four or five others in the group, two of whom had push scooters with them.”

The incident took place at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, November 26.
